About the Role

We are seeking a friendly and motivated individual to join our team as a Business Development Representative in the payments services industry. As our Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in generating new business opportunities and building strong relationships with clients. Your primary responsibility will be to identify potential customers, present our services, and close sales. You must be self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation :
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
    • Research and identify potential clients and target industries.
    • Utilize tools such as CRM, LinkedIn, and other platforms to generate leads.
    • Develop and execute outbound sales strategies, including cold calling and emailing.
    • Follow up on inbound leads from marketing campaigns.
  • Prospecting :
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.
    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
    • Qualify leads through initial outreach and discovery calls.
    • Promote our products and services to potential customers.
    • Identify client needs and offer tailored merchant services solutions.
    • Conduct sales presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients.
    • Manage and grow a portfolio of clients.
  • Relationship Building :
    • Develop and nurture relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads.
    • Maintain regular communication with prospects through various channels.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Sales Support :
    • Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies.
    • Assist in preparing sales presentations and proposals.
    • Provide feedback and insights to the marketing team to improve lead quality.
    • Execute initial merchant implementation needs for card present solutions.
    • Assist with merchant support to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Analysis :
    • Track and manage all lead and prospect interactions in the CRM system.
    • Provide regular updates on lead generation activities and results to management.
    • Analyze lead data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaboration :
    • Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to align on business goals.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall sales strategy.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and success.
  • Continuous Learning :
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in sales and business development.
    • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2+ years of merchant sales development in payments required.
  • 3+ years of sales/business development experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, specifically within the payments industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of the payments industry and devices.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Bonus Points

  • Experience from fintech is highly preferred.
  • Previous start-up experience is highly preferred.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience) + OTE (uncapped commission).
