Position Summary:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides leadership, strategic direction, and vision for the achievement of the Girl Scouts mission in partnership with the Council’s Board of Directors and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). The CEO works passionately to ensure that the Council serves girls across the diversity of families and communities represented in the Silver Sage region. The incumbent works closely with the Board of Directors and senior Council management team to shape the Council business strategy and works collaboratively in the development of measurable goals and objectives to execute and implement the strategy to advance the Girl Scout movement across the Council region.

Who We Are :
We are the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage. We are a movement of K-12 girls and adult volunteers who believe girls can change the world, and we serve across 35 counties in Idaho, and one county each in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. She organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, and every year since, we've made her vision a reality, helping girls discover their strengths, passions, and talents.

Major Accountabilities:
Lead with vision and integrity to ensure the Council’s mission effectiveness and fiscal well-being. (30%)
1. Lead the collaborative strategic roadmap process and provide guidance in the integration and implementation of long- and short-term operating objectives and actions to support strategic imperatives. Provide leadership on critical issues affecting the Council.
2. Ensure the Council’s long-term financial stability by working with senior management and Board of Directors to increase and expand sources of revenue through philanthropy, fundraising (expanding our donor base), grants, product, program, investments, and other sources.
3. Advance Girl Scouts’ longstanding commitment to pluralism and nondiscrimination by taking action to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of Girl Scouting.
4. Provide leadership, support, and direction to ensure that the Girl Scouts mission and core values are consistently practiced by all within the Council jurisdiction.
5.. Act as an advocate and chief spokesperson for Girl Scouting by representing the Council to the general public, foundations, and the corporate community; build awareness of programs and position Girl Scouts as the premiere organization for girls.

Empower, equip, and inspire staff and volunteers to collaboratively create a place of belonging that listens and takes action on the needs of girls, families, and communities, drawing from data-driven analyses as well as customer experiences. (40%)

6. Lead, empower and coach the senior management team to enable their growth as individuals, colleagues and leaders and to accountably execute goals and objectives.
7. Work with the senior management team to continuously improve policies and procedures, business processes, technical systems, personnel roles, property management, and volunteer systems; by doing so, enhance capacity and evolve methods to deliver relevant programming and highquality customer service to all members and the communities we serve.
8. Cultivate a spirit of ingenuity to seek out, recommend and evaluate innovations to stimulate and sustain membership growth and ensure program quality and relevance in changing times.

Ensure Council adherence to Board governance requirements and movement alignment with GSUSA. (30%)

11. Support the Board of Directors to effectively accomplish ambassadorship and fund development responsibilities to enable the Council to meet philanthropy and market share objectives.
12. Work in partnership with the Board chair to ensure timely attention to critical issues.
13. Ensure that Council affairs are conducted with the highest integrity, in a manner consistent with corporate and charter requirements, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
14. In collaboration with GSUSA and sister councils, carry out the purpose of the Girl Scout Movement set forth in the Preamble to the Constitution of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.; support national movement alignment in brand, policy agenda, technology, membership and all areas; leverage crosscouncil knowledge and implement a unified movement voice.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Communications, Marketing, or other applicable field, or a minimum 10 years of equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
2. Experience in senior management, including strategic planning, HR fundamentals, and budget oversight
3. Success in fundraising and non-profit management in a volunteer-driven organization
4. Strong commitment to equity, inclusion and justice
5. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking
6. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
7. Experience in Girl Scouting highly beneficial
