Bridge & Highway Estimator:
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Highway and Bridge Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating for heavy highway and bridge construction projects. This role involves preparing detailed estimates, performing take-offs, and working closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for heavy highway and bridge construction projects, including earthwork, paving, structural elements, and utilities.
* Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify key requirements, scope, and potential risks.
* Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overheads.
* Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
* Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and project schedules.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements and constraints.
* Monitor and update estimates as necessary to reflect changes in project scope or conditions.
* Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid documents, and project correspondence.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in roadway and concrete structures construction (heavy Civil)
* Proficiency in Bid2Win and HCSS software, excellent analytical and mathematical skills, and strong attention to detail.
* Deep understanding of earthworks, grading, excavation, and underground utility installation processes and costs.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
