Job Description

The Immigration Attorney advises and represents clients in relation to their legal rights and has a strong background in immigration law, excellent client communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for managing a full caseload, providing legal representation to individuals and families, and ensuring compliance with all immigration-related procedures. Responsibilities: • Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients • Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings • Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts • Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels • Handle a wide range of immigration cases, including family-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, employment-based immigration, and naturalization. • Conduct client consultations, assess cases, and provide strategic legal advice. • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation. • Ensure that your team submits 30 final packets a month.  • Represent clients in immigration court, administrative hearings, and interviews before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and other relevant agencies. • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and answering any questions or concerns. • Explain complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner to clients from diverse backgrounds. • Conduct thorough legal research on relevant immigration laws, regulations, and case precedents. • Draft persuasive legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents in support of clients' cases, when applicable. • Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure efficient case handling. • Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm on complex cases and legal strategies. • Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including bond hearings, removal defense, and appeals, when applicable. • Attend USCIS interviews, immigration court hearings, and other relevant agency proceedings on behalf of clients. • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable laws, ethical standards, and firm policies. • Maintain confidentiality and protect client information in accordance with professional standards. • Communicate with unhappy clients and begin the process of negotiating with clients to successfully remove a bad online review within 2 hours on notice. Qualifications: • Able to work independently while handling multiple files • Admitted to local and state bar associations • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills • Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing • Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, policies, and procedures • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software • Bilingual skills required in Spanish • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment • Proficient with Google Suite or related software • Ability to handle adversity with maturity and poise Education and Experience • Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar • Licensed to practice law in at least one state • At least two years related experience preferred About Company: Lincoln-Goldfinch Law is an award-winning immigration and bankruptcy law firm based out of Austin, Texas that serves people from all 50 states and from across the globe in both English and Spanish.
