Are you a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse with a strong background in Med-Surg care, looking to apply your expertise in a remote, flexible role? We are seeking experienced professionals to join a non-profit organization and contribute to the high standards of care within the VA system.
Position Overview: We are hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience in Med-Surg to serve as a VA Reviewer. In this role, you will conduct thorough audits and reviews, ensuring that the highest quality of care is being provided to veterans. This is a remote, contract-based position, offering flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Requested Reviews (FRRs): Conduct quality management reviews using a standardized set of questions to assess whether care was provided timely and appropriately. Each review takes approximately one hour.
Management of Other Cases: Review cases initiated for various performance improvement indicators, utilizing non-standardized questions. Each case review typically takes around one hour.
Medical Advisory Opinions (MAOs): Provide detailed opinions for cases, usually initiated by patient complaints or malpractice concerns, with non-standardized questions prepared by attorneys. These reviews take approximately 2-4 hours to complete.
Protected VA Case Reviews: All reviews are confidential, and reviewers will not be required to present in court.
Qualifications:
Current, non-restricted LVN license in a U.S. state or territory.
A minimum of 5 years of active clinical practice in Med-Surg, with at least 2 years of recent experience in this specialty.
Must be actively practicing and maintain hospital privileges.
Ability to dedicate a minimum of 20 clinical hours per month.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive pay per case, with rates determined by case type:
Facility Requested Reviews (FRRs): $95 per case
Medical Advisory Opinions (MAOs): $225 per case
A one-time flat rate of $150 will be provided upon obtaining your VA PIV card.
Note: Training time is not compensated.
