Job Description Targeted Hourly Pay Range: Minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $30.00

POSITION PURPOSE: The Metering Technician will serve Veolia Energy as a customer support and performs field service on meter installations, reading of sub-meters, field testing of mechanical and electrical equipment, preparing reports, preparing purchase and installation specifications, commissioning and testing services and other duties that arise.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES : The Meter Tech Duties include commissioning and testing of electrical and BTU meters. Commissioning and testing of IT and remote data recording equipment. Electrical distribution and metering surveys. Create, review and modify meter diagrams. Troubleshoot meter system issues and update work orders. Oversee contractors performing installations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Work Environment: The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs. Candidates should be able to lift and maneuver a 70-lbs. load.
Qualifications Education / Experience / Background - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3 - 5 years' experience with low voltage electrical distribution and metering and sub metering concepts.
- 1 - 3 years' experience with project related energy services.
- Associate of Science degree from an accredited two-year college or equivalent military or civilian technical school background in electricity/electronics preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities - Able to visit multiple customer work sites to perform such duties as installing and maintaining metering equipment.
- Serve as the customer support leader in troubleshooting equipment problems and answering customer inquiries.
- Working knowledge of basic hand and electric tools.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training - Current and valid driver's license.
