Position Announcement: Office Manager/HR/Bookkeeper (Temporary, Part-Time)

Wisconsin Wetlands Association is looking for an experienced Office Manager with proven Bookkeeping and Human Resource skills to support our growing dedicated team. Wisconsin Wetlands Association is a 501(c)3, statewide non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of wetlands through science-based programs, education, and advocacy See for more information.

Summary: This 7-month temporary part-time position (12-16 hours/week) works under the direction of the Executive Director, coordinating the administration and operations of Wisconsin Wetlands Association and supporting the organization’s programs. The position is predominantly responsible for office management but includes some light Bookkeeping and Human Resource tasks as well as Administrative Support for the Executive Director. Wisconsin Wetlands Association is currently reviewing and updating its internal operations. This position will be assisting with these efforts. For the right person, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the internal operations of a statewide organization. This temporary position could be changed to permanent in 2025.

Primary Duties:

  • Office Management/Administrative Support: Managing overall daily operations of the office, including general phone and email inquiries; assisting with upgrading our internal operations, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, keeping common office spaces clean, coordinating with landlord regarding building matters, assisting staff as needed and performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Light Bookkeeping: Using QuickBooks-Online accounting software; processing accounts payable (cutting checks), processing bank deposits, assisting the contracted accountant with the annual financial audit, and performing other light bookkeeping tasks as needed.
  • Human Resources: Managing employee paperwork, submitting monthly payroll (including 401k processing), on-boarding new staff, and interfacing with employee benefits and business insurance providers.

Hours, Salary and Term:

This is a temporary hourly position paying $25 an hour (adjusted based on experience). Benefits include a flexible work environment, including some remote work options, and being a part of a small team of motivated staff.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years office management experience.
  • 2+ years bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks -Online preferred), with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with partners, volunteers, members, Board of Directors, staff, and the public.
