Operations Manager - Humble

Our Global Client is looking for an Operations Manager. The operations manager will be responsible for managing and handling daily freight forwarding operations and must have a high standard of knowledge in the freight forwarding industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead and execute all freight forwarding, air freight, ocean freight, project freight and warehouse activities
• Lead and assist operational team to success in high performance culture
• Lead by example, highly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work
• Knowledge of air, ocean, project transportation
• Ability to handle and execute shipments from A-Z for all modes of transport
• Full understanding of TSA, FMC and export regulations
• Ability to handle and manage the shipping of oversize cargo
• Meet with clients to develop long term relationships
• Meet with and negotiate rates and contracts with suppliers
• Provide pricing to customers, maximizing profitability where possible whilst remaining competitive.
• Provide best in class service to current and new customer base in order to gain trust and obtain
• client retention.
• Support with RFQ’s
• Use initiative, be enthusiastic with a can-do attitude towards clients.
• Work closely with colleagues and overseas offices
• Creating and implementing SOP's
• Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures
• Analyze data to assess performance and implement process improvements
• Maintain a system of control over file accounts
• Keep track of costs and expenses
• Apply best strategies to incoming opportunities
• Support all administrative tasks
• Provide report to directors monthly
• Goal orientated, self-disciplined, self-motivated and passionate for success
• Team player with positive attitude

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required

10 Years of Experience in freight forwarding

Three (3) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory position

Skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently prioritize competing tasks

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to lead, mentor and share knowledge
