We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience in database administration, focusing on Oracle databases. This role involves performing advanced database development tasks, including creating new tables, views, and PL/SQL code to support the Financial Data Warehouse. You will also be responsible for performance tuning, data modeling, and optimizing database performance. The candidate must have experience with Agile methodologies, database design, and performance tuning.
The position requires independent judgment, initiative, and creativity to accomplish goals. You will work under limited supervision and have a high degree of latitude to perform tasks.

Job Description: - Enters codes to create and manage production databases.
- Selects and enters utility program codes to monitor database performance, including record distribution and memory availability.
- Directs programmers and analysts to modify database management systems.
- Reviews and corrects programs, answers user questions, and ensures changes to databases are cost-effective and well-integrated.
- Specializes in one or more database management systems and modifies programs to optimize processing performance (performance tuning).
- Assists in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems to ensure alignment with structural and design parameters.
- Evaluates and incorporates new data elements into shared environments, ensuring data integrity and reducing redundancy.
- Performs data modeling, including logical and physical design, and creates relational database models.
- Executes security recovery procedures, database search strategies, and monitors storage requirements.
- Maintains and sets standards for data dictionaries and recommends database efficiency improvements.
- Creates test environments, including libraries and procedures, and handles database recovery from hardware and software failures.
- Assists with the installation, design, and implementation of databases, ensuring security and disaster recovery procedures are followed.
- Participates in benchmarking, threshold testing, and the selection of database management software.
- Applies knowledge of computer systems analysis, programming, and database technologies.
- Ensures user interfaces for database operations comply with EIR Accessibility standards.
- Provides support for accessibility-related data issues.
Additional Job Details: - This Database Administrator position is part of the Administrative Applications Production Data Services team, focusing on the Financial Data Warehouse.
- Responsibilities include database development, performance optimization, and addressing bottlenecks during and after migration.
- Develops new views, tables, PL/SQL code, and Linux shell scripts for database calls and scheduled jobs.
- Works on designing, developing, and testing database components such as tables, views, and PL/SQL stored procedures.
- Collaborates closely with the team on logical and physical data models, primarily using Oracle databases and Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions.
Minimum Requirements: - 6 Years Required: Experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
- 6 Years Required: Experience in Oracle database structures and data analysis.
- 6 Years Required: Experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
- 6 Years Required: Experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
- 6 Years Required: Experience within the software development lifecycle using Agile methodology (Scrum, for example).
- 6 Years Required: Experience with multi-tier system/application development (SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications, for example).
- 1 Year Preferred: Jira experience.
- 1 Year Preferred: Oracle Certification.
- 1 Year Preferred: Experience with data warehouse applications and/or database reporting features.
