Job Description

Voice Systems Engineering (VSE) is an organization of entrepreneurial, growth-minded people working to positively impact people’s lives. Our advisor-based, technology platform marketplaces service verticals including psychic guidance and wellness.

At VSE, we believe that when the right people come together, anything is possible. We have created a remote-first environment and a culture dedicated to diversity, equity, balance, and belonging.

We are seeking an ambitious Product Owner to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious growth goals.

What you get to do:

In this position you will play a key role in translating our mission and product strategy into action by documenting product requirements, prioritizing our product backlog, and collaborating with a cross-functional agile development team as we design, build, and deliver our new and exciting product.

You will serve as the subject matter expert on features, user stories, and product capabilities to answer questions, provide clarifications, and coordinate business validation. As our next product owner, you should be strategic, thoughtful, and will serve as a key resource in overseeing tactical execution of efforts to take our upcoming product to the next level.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead the delivery teams’ priorities, ensuring successful implementation of our strategy and vision as defined by the Head of Product.
  • Serve as the product liaison, keeping commercial success and customer needs at the forefront.
  • Deploy new and enhanced features based on feedback from users and internal stakeholders.
  • Guide the prioritization of the product backlog, acting as the Product Owner in an agile development team.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to author and maintain the scrum teams’ backlog of user stories and serve as an SME on features, user stories, and product capabilities.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure product releases achieve designated goals.
  • Create release-specific business documents, such as internal and external release notes, and release-related living documents.

Your journey so far has likely included:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Product Owner working with mobile applications.
  • A history of working closely with design and development teams and an ability to work collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Experience delving into the details and capability of a product while considering the bigger picture.
  • Team experience that has made you comfortable discussing creative ideas, new technology and user experience.
  • Exposure to agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • A track record of strong written communication skills, especially making complicated user stories and acceptance criteria easy to understand.
  • Learning and gaining proficiency in commonly used product management tools (e.g., JIRA, or similar) and while not essential, experience with Figma is a plus.

At VSE the well-being of our people comes first, and we have nurtured a culture that focuses on health and wellness, personal growth, and social responsibility. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment of belonging for all employees and applicants. We are an equal opportunity employer.

We offer an unlimited vacation policy and flexible work schedule, so you can prioritize your needs for whatever season of life you are in. Our comprehensive insurance programs include medical, dental, vision, and life. VSE employees also have access to a “wellness wallet” that will reimburse them for gym memberships, workout equipment, mindfulness apps, healthy food boxes, ergonomic workspace tools, and more.

We prioritize investment in our people by offering a tuition reimbursement program and plenty of opportunities to continue learning. We also help you plan for your future and beyond by offering a 401k match and access to expert financial advice.

This is a remote based position. We are currently inviting residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland, Tennessee, and Washington   to apply for this position.

Salary Range:  $80,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and expertise. This figure represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential salary for this role. Salary and whole compensation package to be determined by the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. We may offer a salary outside this range to an exceptional candidate.
