Job Description

Alderson Loop is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrum Master/Project Manager to join our team supporting the trade floor groups at an an enterprise client in the Energy space. The successful candidate will guide a group of employees and vendor teams in the execution of agile initiatives to deliver customer value for the program. This role requires a strong Agile mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead using influence and interpersonal skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation:

    • Guide and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Impediment Removal:

    • Identify and eliminate impediments or obstacles hindering the team's progress.
    • Work with stakeholders to address issues outside the team's control.
  • Coaching and Mentoring:

    • Coach team members on Scrum principles and practices.
    • Provide mentorship to help the team continuously improve and achieve higher performance levels.
  • Servant Leadership:

    • Embrace a servant-leader role, focusing on the team's needs.
    • Support the team in decision-making and problem-solving, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
  • Collaboration:

    • Foster a collaborative culture among team members, stakeholders, and other Scrum Masters.
    • Promote open communication and transparency to build trust within the team.
  • Metrics and Monitoring:

    • Track and analyze team metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Use data to help the team set realistic goals and enhance overall performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Encourage and drive continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives.
    • Implement actions to address identified areas for enhancement.
  • Scrum Adoption:

    • Advocate for and educate stakeholders on the benefits of Scrum.
    • Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and follows agreed-upon processes.
  • Conflict Resolution:

    • Address conflicts within the team and promote a positive and constructive team environment.
    • Help team members understand and respect different perspectives.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and manage risks that may impact the successful delivery of the product.
    • Collaborate with the Product Owner and team to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Adaptability:

    • Be adaptable and responsive to changes in the project or organizational context.
    • Help the team embrace change and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Communication:

    • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
    • Ensure information flows seamlessly, keeping everyone informed about relevant developments.
  • Scrum Tools:

    • Utilize and maintain Scrum tools and artifacts, such as the product backlog, sprint backlog, and burndown charts, to provide transparency into the team's progress.
  • Release Management:

    • Ensure on-time releases by coordinating with the development, testing, DevOps, and offshore teams through agile ceremonies.
  • Portfolio Management:

    • Work with the Program Manager/Product Owner to ensure the backlog is prioritized.
    • Manage work intake to maintain sprint capacity and scope.

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience within a scaled Agile environment.
  • High proficiency with portfolio management tools and processes.
  • Excellent communicator on strategies, status, and outcomes.
  • Servant leadership qualities, detail-oriented, capable of working in a strategic environment, and managing to deadlines.
  • Drives for results.
  • Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence is required.
  • Onsite availability is required.
