Senior Cloud Computing & Database Management Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Computing & Database Management Specialist to oversee and manage the assessment, integration, and implementation of cloud computing technologies within HHS systems. This role involves migrating data from current NIH-hosted services to a new cloud platform, managing cloud databases, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support uninterrupted operations.

Cloud Infrastructure Assessment and Integration:

• Support the assessment of current cloud infrastructure and manage the seamless integration of cloud computing technologies with existing HHS systems.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis and provide recommendations for migrating data from National Institutes of Health (NIH) hosting services to a newly identified cloud platform.

Data Migration and Management:

• Oversee the migration of HCAS/DCIS data to the new cloud hosting platform, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity throughout the process.
• Manage and optimize data storage across cloud platforms to prevent work stoppage and maintain operational efficiency.

Data Integrity and Security:

• Ensure the integrity of cloud-based systems by preventing duplication, resolving conflicts between contradictory records, and maintaining accurate data.
• Implement and oversee data security measures and cloud backup strategies to enable rapid recovery in the event of data loss or system failures.

Cloud Database Maintenance:

• Regularly monitor and maintain cloud database storage to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Address and resolve any issues related to cloud database management to prevent disruptions and maintain data accuracy.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Provide regular updates and detailed reports on cloud migration progress, data management status, and any encountered issues.
• Document processes, decisions, and configurations related to cloud infrastructure and data management.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in cloud computing and database management, with a focus on cloud migration and integration.
• Proven experience in managing data across cloud platforms and ensuring data integrity and security.
• Expertise in cloud computing technologies and database management, including data migration, cloud infrastructure, and backup solutions.
• Strong analytical skills to assess and recommend actions for optimizing cloud systems and resolving data conflicts.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to address issues related to data integrity, system performance, and cloud infrastructure.
